Master of Laws (LL.M.) 3 Years Evening Course ( Seats Available - 20)

Eligibility for Admission

Candidate should be B.A.LL.B. /LL.B. from a recognised institute with a minimum two years of service or practise experience. One should be in service or in practise to get admission under this scheme.

Teaching Course

1. The LL.M. Evening course is of three years duration, divided into six semesters.

2. The academic calendar shall be as follows:-

I,III and V Semester Session-1 st July to 30th Nov.

Exam. -1 st to 15th Dec.

II,IV and VI Semester Session-1 st January to 31st May.

Exam. -1 st to 15th June.

4. The LL.M. course comprises six core papers, six electives, seminars therein and dissertation, (on the pattern of double specialization) as detailed hereinafter:

Ist Semester

1. Law and Social Transformation

1. Indian Constitution Law-New Challenges

2. 1st Paper Second opted group

IIIrd Semester

1. Judical Process

IVth Semester

1. Advanced Research Methodology

2. 2nd Paper of second opted group

Vth Semester

1. Application of theories of Jurisprudence

2. 3rd paper of first opted group

VIth Semester

1. Seminar on the contemporary issue of the group

3.Dissertation + Viva-Voce

D. Human Right Law

Paper-1 -Human Rights in International Order

Paper-2 – Protection and Enforcement of Human Rights in India

Paper-3 – Human Rights of Disadvantaged Groups: Problems and issues in the Protection and Enforcement. <

* Selection of electives will be based at the discretion of the principal on the basis of strength of the students.

Attendance (Mandatory)

6. The students are expected to attend all the classes and should not have less than 75% attendance in theory as well as in practical classes to be eligible to appear in the university examination.

Examination

7. Theory papers shall consist of 100 marks in the semester examination as under:

(a) Internal assessment: 40 marks ( Regular assessment on National Law University pattern )

(b) University Examination: 60 marks

Note: Merit requirement relaxable in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the University.
