In Meerut (U.P.), a desprate need was felt to develop one standard Law College which could provide not just quality legal education but also strive to raise the legal and academic standards. This law college is committed to impart Law education for U.G and P.G. courses since 2002. To develop a competitive International environment and to promote global legal consciousness in the community for realization of goals of the society and objectives embodied in the Constitution of India, a law College named Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law came into existence in September 2002 with the idea of training youngsters to become responsible, law-abiding persons like ‘India’s greatest national leader fondly called the ‘Loh Purush’ or the iron man Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.
Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Subharti Institute of Law (SARPA-SIL) is set in lush green and healthy surroundings in a majestic and imposing building in the sacred memory of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. As the law College is named after Sardar Patel (The Iron Man - first Home Minister and well known lawyer) the objective of the College is also to fulfill his vision i.e. to provide quality legal education to the youth of our country. In 2008 the entire educational setup under the K.K. B. Charitable Trust took shape of a University and was named Swami Vivekanand Subharti University under Section 2 (f) of the UGC Act, 1956 (vide notification no. F.9-37/2008(CPP-1) dated- 06/02/2009). The Bar Council of India under Advocates Act 1961 duly accorded its approval to the University (vide its letter no. BCI: D: 1081/2009 (LE:Mtg.) dated 30/06/2009) to run the academic courses under the faculty of Law and thus the goal to achieve our mission began.
The object of Subharti Law College is to build, on the conventional pattern, true Indian ethos and to create a temple of learning. It aims to impart quality legal education and organize advanced studies and research in all branches of law. The Law College offers B.A.LL.B. a five years integrated course from 2002. After becoming one of the constituent College of the Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, the Law college has also started Masters Course in Law offering two Elective Group systems as per the corporate and global requirements. The Law College has already started Ph.D. Course along with five PG. Diploma courses, of the duration of one year, during last academic session. LL.D. is also under process and very soon it will be incorporated in the course curriculum. In short Subharti Law College has been shaped as LAW ACADEMY for professional excellence with academic potential.
